Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SDI — Search Insights ("SDI", "we", "our", or "us"), a Shopify application. By installing or using SDI, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The service

SDI is a Shopify application that tracks search queries on your storefront, analyses search behaviour, and surfaces insights including inventory gaps, tag suggestions, and conversion analytics. The service is provided on a subscription basis as described on the pricing page within the app.

2. Eligibility

You must have an active Shopify store and agree to Shopify's Terms of Service to use SDI. By accepting these Terms, you represent that you have the authority to bind your business to this agreement.

3. Plans and billing

SDI offers multiple plan tiers, including a free Starter plan and paid plans billed monthly through Shopify's billing API. By selecting a paid plan, you authorise Shopify to charge your account on a recurring monthly basis. All billing is handled by Shopify — we do not store or process payment card details.

  • Plan changes take effect immediately
  • Downgrading to Starter cancels your paid subscription at the end of the current billing cycle
  • Trial periods are available once per merchant account and are non-transferable
  • Refunds are subject to Shopify's standard billing policies

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use SDI to collect, process, or store data in violation of applicable law
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of SDI
  • Use SDI in any way that could harm, disable, or overburden our infrastructure
  • Resell or sublicense access to SDI without our written consent

5. Data and privacy

Your use of SDI is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. You retain ownership of your store data. By using SDI, you grant us a limited licence to access and process your store data solely to provide the service.

6. Intellectual property

SDI and all related software, designs, and documentation are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property law. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the limited licence to use the service as described herein.

7. Availability and modifications

We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to SDI. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice. We may also update these Terms — continued use of SDI after changes constitutes acceptance.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

SDI is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free or that any specific results will be achieved.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of SDI, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 30 days preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may terminate your use of SDI at any time by uninstalling the app from your Shopify store. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if unresolved, through binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction.
